TOP 12 GREAT PLAYERS WHO HAVE NEVER WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

12 – Lothar Matthäus

Former Germany midfielder Lothar Matthaus had a successful career, winning many trophies over the years. Matthaus is the most capped German player of all time, with 150 appearances for the Panzers. He won 7 Bundesliga titles, 1 World Cup, 1 European Championship, 1 Serie A, 3 German Cups and 2 Uefa Cups. Try as he might, the German ace could not win the Champions League. Matthaus came very close to winning the famed trophy, but Bayern Munich lost 2-1 to Manchester United in 1999. It’s such a shame that he didn’t win the Champions League.
