Officially known as Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, San Siro is home to AC Milan and Inter. This is one of the most iconic football grounds not only in Italy, but in Europe as well. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 80,018 and it was designed to give spectators a feeling of closeness to the players on the pitch. San Siro has hosted several important matches over the past decades. In 2001, Giuseppe Meazza hosted the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Valencia. The 2016 Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid was also disputed at San Siro.
